Florence, Italy

I had several friends in college but did a semester abroad in Florence so I have heard countless stories about how amazing it was and how I needed to go someday. Well I can honestly say that they were right Florence was one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited.

The architecture is just amazing and incredibly beautiful and the museums have some of the greatest art ever made. I could see how you could spend days just walking the streets, taking photographs, or painting. Everything about the city is just inspiring.

I will say though that I found it to be very touristy. If you are looking for a real sense of how the locals live and where they eat you will have to explore well outside of the city center. I highly recommend thoroughly exploring the city and the surrounding towns to get a real feel for the area.
