Vicenza, Italy

Vicenza was my home for almost 2 months while I stayed with a friend who lived there. This tiny town has no tourist attractions or any real reason for you to visit. But I have to say that it was one of my favorite places than I have ever been. It’s because the town has no tourists that I really got to experience a real sense of Italy.

Because it is a very small town almost everybody knows each other and that started to include me after a while which just made me love it more. Almost every day I would have my coffee at the same café around lunchtime just as the locals did and I really got a chance to feel like I was part of the community rather than just a tourist. The people that live there were incredibly friendly and helpful even though my Italian was absolutely horrible. The town was absolutely charming and really is a place I could see myself living.
